The overall goal of Humans of William & Mary as an organization is to reveal more about people than meets the eye on our campus and showcase the diversity that surrounds us. "The Mask Within" is an extension of Humans of William & Mary, and attempts to visually express the personalities and identities that make up the community through face paint.
This is Hannah: happy and ambitious, loyal and lost. Her bright outlook on life rims her eyes with yellow. Bold red arches over her sunny eyes represent ambition for the future. In word and thought, she is loyal like the long, unbroken lines that run from her mouth to her temple--leading to the three black lines across her forehead, representing her place as the middle child of three sisters. Yet underneath it all lurk hazy blues and grays, the her confusion and uncertainty that exists despite what's on the surface.
